About the Event

Dear IHS members:

One of the primary goals of the Italian Heritage Society of the Monterey Peninsula has been to establish a heritage center to share the history, culture, and contributions of our Italian relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Thanks to our partnership with the Monterey History & Art Association at the Stanton Center, located at the Custom House Plaza in Monterey, we present  the Bounty of the Sea exhibit, a timeline of the history of fishing in Monterey Bay.  Our exhibit has an emphasis on the contributions of Sicilian/Italian fishermen during Monterey's "Sardine Capital of the World" era.

You are invited to attend us for our formal opening of the exhibit on Saturday, December 2, from 1-4pm  Admission is free of charge to current IHS members who RSVP in advance.  Refreshments will be availalbe and space is limited.

Please RSVP no later than Saturday, November 25, so that we may accomodate all of our members.  We will host groups in two timeslots, one from 1-2:30pm, and the other from 2:30-4pm.  After November 25, we will offer invitations to other friends and supporters if there is space available.

The Stanton Center charges an admission fee, which is discounted $10 for IHS, if you're unable to attend this event on December 2.

We hope to see you there.
